Articles about nutrition are very frequent and available nowadays on the web. This subject is getting much interest and curiosity across the sports people and coaches. I just got an online certification in Sports Nutrition (at University of FC Barcelona) because I think it is essential to complete a training plan and to get a better performance level, since we are talking about the fuel of the human machine.
Few weeks ago a friend of mine (physiotherapist and osteopath) asked me to write an article about the importance of physical activity for the persons with back pain. I choose to publish it here in the section “Nutrition and wellness” since it is a subject that is common to many people and it is rich of contents that can be used to improve our quality of life.
Is important to evaluate young athletes by postural testing since their very first years of sport activity? Yes, it is. From a side is true that growing up bones and joints and muscular and tendon structures evolve and strengthen in a natural way, but if there is a balanced basis it can maximize this process and allow young athletes to get ideal wellness and functionality of their body for the future. That is very important also because very often the growth is characterized by phases of sudden structural increase, with temporary loss of balance.
According to the dictionary, the word nutrition is “the amount of biologic processes that allows, or condition, the survival, the growth, the development and the integrity of a human organism, from all the reigns (animal, vegetal, bacterial…) on the base of the availability of energy and nutrients”.
